Comment on bad website
Contrast This website has a simple, dull and boring layout which is white background and black text. One look at the main page gives the user a impression of entering a half-done website. The web site did not provide a short description about what the website is about and it does not have links to its sub page.The contrast on the page makes it look like a lump of information being put together.
Proximity
The words are too close to each other and it does not organize information in order. Further more there is no headline to describe the text. Element on the page do now have visual connection with another element on the page
Alignment
It should have a standard alignment to make the page looks clean and fresh.
On the right side of the home page it shows a service that provides the geographical location of a ip address base on internet infrastructure data derived from one of five regional internet registries, it is a good service but it does not provide enough instruction on how to use it. it only provides a brief example .
Repetition
As we know that tables are good for displaying data. But the web site is not made up of css and instead it is made up of tables .The website is design using tables which makes redesigning of the website very labour intensive. There is obviously no visual consistency on the website as the sub page and the main page don’t look the same. Since it is using table, it will be less accessible to users with disabilities and viewers using cell phones and pda to access the web.
Some links out of nowhere does not match the content of the website, such as the Zheng ho was here. Some user may not understand
Another bad point is, it contains lots of advertisement and the advertisement takes up more places than the content on the main page.
When we click the east Asia link on the bottom it will link us to http://pagenation.com/map8.html , it shows a map with locations that we can click .but whenever we click on any country , for example Singapore , it will go back to the main page .this shows that the link contain some problem.How to apply to my website?
I will learn from the mistakes such as inconsistency and using tables , therefore i will use css and make sure that my main page and sub page don't look so different. Therefore it gives the user a safe feeling that they did not enter a wrong website.

ProximityThe spacing between items on a page are not too wide and the heading are close to their paragraphs , spacing between paragraphs are just nice. Lastly, related items are grouped together.

ContrastThis website has an attractive and attention catching background. It has good contrast as the colours mixtures are good .It creates a hierarchy of information.The words are of different size which is good
The animation on the website is enough and it brings life to the website .too much animation will distract the user from the main content
when the user enter the website , he/she will be able to hear songs being played which brings out the hearing entertainment
one look on the site would give a impression that it is trying to attract kids attention as it contain games and some fun activities in the web site such as Belchin Bovines

All links are able to work and there are no broken links. When we navigate on a certain subpage we will know what page we are in from the white bubble above.The buttons contain animated flash which makes it more interesting to the user

How does this apply to my website?
Flash buttons being use in this site are innovative and can be used in my site to bring out more life.It is user friendly and the information being displayed satisfy the user needs. The difficult part is designing the css file.
